Reagan Youth – Degenerated (Rehearsal at Sound Bite Studios)

EXCLUSIVE: Punk Legends Reagan Youth Revamp Lineup, Announces Tour

What will the neighbors think? After a bit of recent onstage drama Trey Oswald is out as the vocalist of Reagan Youth — “Please go get help that you so desperately need,” the “members” section of the band’s Facebook page not-so-subtly reads — and former Dead Kennedy’s frontman/punk rock documentarian Jeff Penalty is in.

“There’s a moment shared by all punks — the moment when you first open your eyes and see just how fucked up the world really is,” Penalty tells Decibel. “It births an anger inside you, and punk music is the only thing that keeps that fire from burning you down. No band better captures the spirit of that discontented awakening better than Reagan Youth. Their storied past and their impact on the hardcore punk scene are humbling, and I’m honored and excited to be joining them. I never thought I’d join one infamous punk band, let alone two. Life is really fucking weird sometimes. But in an awesome way.”

“I’d rather be right than safe! That’s why we’ve brought Jeff and Rick on board, not because it’s the safe thing to do but because it’s the right thing to do,” Reagan Youth cofounder, guitarist, and all around badass adds. “The safe thing would have been for me and [Reagan Youth bassist] Tibbie X to fold it up, but I’m not going to do that.”

And…the hits keep coming: Drummer Stig Whisper has been replaced by former Dr. Know skin whaler Rick Contreras.

“I’m ecstatic to be joining the legacy that is Reagan Youth,” Contreras says. “I’ve got a lot of respect for Dave’s message and it’s great to be a part of it. Paul’s doing some amazing things with the band and Tibbie’s given it a new lease on life. Working alongside everybody has me excited and looking forward to what’s in store for this upcoming tour.”

“It’s like my entire record collection came to life, got all scrambled up and all the band members got reassigned, in a really great way,” Tibbie X, who also fronts the churning cauldron of sex and punk known as GASH, says. “On top of it all I get to be in the band with members of Dead Kennedy’s, Reagan Youth and Dr. Know. Amazing.”

April tour dates:

4/15. Paso Robles – Mannys
4/16. Fresno – Audie’s olympic
4/17. San Fran – Parkside
4/18. Sonoma – 755 After Dark

The Kassos “Records Over You” San Diego Garage Punk Rock

The Kassos – Records Over You

You say I love my records more than I love you
I couldn’t put my finger on it but yeah I guess that’s true

It’s too bad you can’t stay
But I’d take my records over you any day

Seems like you love those records more than you love me
Sometimes when I hear your voice
I’d like to put you in a plastic sleeve
You listen to those records more than you listen to me
Cause most of the time you’re screaming side “A”
And I wanna hear side “B”

Free music is music that, like free software, can freely be copied, distributed and modified for any purpose. Thus free music is either in the public domain or licensed under a free license by the artist or copyright holder themselves, often as a method of promotion. It does not mean that there should be no fee involved. The word free refers to freedom (as in free software), not to price.

The Free Music Philosophy generally encourages creators to free music using whatever language or methods they wish. A Free Music Public License (FMPL) is available for those who prefer a formal approach. Some free music is licensed under licenses that are intended for software (like the GPL) or other writings (the GFDL). But there are also licenses especially for music and other works of art, such as EFF’s Open Audio License, LinuxTag’s Open Music License, the Free Art license and some of the Creative Commons Licences.

Terry @ Fanfulla 5

TERRY (Glam Pop / Melbourne, Australia)
http://www.upsettherhythm.co.uk/terry.shtml

a seguire William Burro dj set

TERRY is getting ready, combing his hair, buttoning his jacket, turning the key in the door. “I’m doing fine,” sings Terry out loud, he knows.

Divide him into four and you get Al Montfort (UV Race, Total Control, Dick Diver etc.), Amy Hill (Constant Mongrel, School Of Radiant Living), Xanthe Waite (Mick Harvey Band) and Zephyr Pavey (Eastlink, Total Control, Russell Street Bombings).Inevitably, Terry likes to make a noise. Drums, guitars and all his voices come into play, making a solid raft for Terry’s melancholic musings to navigate the languid rapids. This all unravels at its own pace, conducting a conversation with the commonplace.

‘Talk About Terry’ marks the band’s first venture into the recorded domain collecting together three of the greatest misshapen glam pop tunes Melbourne, Australia has to offer. Let’s sit up at the table. Let’s start the dialogue now, as Terry is well on his way.

Daft Punk – On Da Dance Floor (Mix 3)

Visit http://trancemydelivrance.blogspot.ca/ We support rare, old, underground and unknown Electronic Artist’s

Daft Punk is a French electronic music duo consisting of musicians Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. Daft Punk reached significant popularity in the late 1990s house movement in France and met with continued success in the years following, combining elements of house with synthpop. The duo is credited with producing songs that are considered essential in the French house scene. The group was managed from 1996 to 2008 by Pedro Winter (Busy P), the head of Ed Banger Records. Early in the group’s career, the band members were influenced by groups including The Beach Boys and The Rolling Stones.

Bangalter and de Homem-Christo were originally in a band called Darlin’, which disbanded after a short period of time, leaving the two to experiment musically on their own. The duo became Daft Punk, releasing its critically acclaimed debut album Homework in 1997. The 2001 release of Discovery was even more successful, driven by the club singles “One More Time”, “Digital Love”, and “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”.
In March 2005, the duo released the album Human After All to mixed reviews. However, the singles “Robot Rock” and “Technologic” achieved success in the United Kingdom. Daft Punk toured throughout 2006 and 2007 and released the live album Alive 2007, which won a Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album. The duo composed the score of the film Tron: Legacy and in 2010 released the soundtrack album of the film. In January 2013, Daft Punk left EMI Records for Sony Music Entertainment’s subsidiary label Columbia, and released Random Access Memories in 2013 to critical acclaim.
Daft Punk is noted for its elaborate live shows, in which visual elements and effects are incorporated with the music. The group is known for its emphasis on visual and story components associated with their musical productions. Daft Punk is also known for its use of disguises while in public and/or performing; specifically ornate helmets and gloves to assume robot personas in most public appearances since 2001. The duo rarely grants interviews or appears on television.
