“Happy Together” is a 1967 song from The Turtles’ album of the same name. Released in February of 1967, the song knocked The Beatles’ “Penny Lane” out of the #1 slot for three weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.[1] It was the group’s only chart-topper. “Happy Together” reached #12 on the UK Singles Chart in April 1967.[2] The song was written by Garry Bonner and Alan Gordon, former members of a band known as The Magicians.[1] The song had been rejected a dozen times before The Turtles were offered it, and the demo acetate was worn out.[3]

Festival ‘FRAUD’! Fyre Fest Goers Claim

The luxury Fyre Festival, in the Bahamas, featured a huge a lineup — G.O.O.D. Music, Blink-182, Major Lazer, Disclosure, and Migos were some of those set to perform, except the entire event was a scam. Festival-goers who paid $12,000 for tickets are claiming the two- weekend event was just an elaborate scheme to get money. Flights are being canceled and attendees that were “glamping” are saying that the conditions are “worse than refugee camps.”

Yoga News and information

Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India and has been practiced for an estimated 5,000+ years. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness.

Recognizing its universal appeal, on 11 December 2014, the United Nations proclaimed 21 June as the International Day of Yoga by resolution 69/131. The International Day of Yoga aims to raise worldwide awareness of the many benefits of practicing yoga. The theme for the 2018 celebration, organized by the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations, is ‘Yoga for Peace.’
Types of Yoga

There are many types of yoga. Hatha (a combination of many styles) is one of the most popular. It is a more physical type of yoga rather than a still, meditative form. Hatha yoga focuses on pranayamas (breath-controlled exercises). These are followed by a series of asanas (yoga postures), which end with savasana (a resting period).

Health news | Job strain could be harming your heart

The researchers define “high-strain jobs” as those that are “psychologically demanding” but give job-holders little control “over the work situation.”

Examples include bus driving, nursing, and working on assembly lines.

Previous studies have linked work stress to coronary heart disease, but whether there is also a link to atrial fibrillation (A-fib) is less clear.

According to first study author Eleanor I. Fransson, who is an associate professor of epidemiology at Jönköping University in Sweden, A-fib “is a common condition with serious consequences and therefore it is of major public health importance to find ways of preventing it.”
A-fib and consequences

A-fib affects millions of people in the United States. It occurs when the upper two chambers of the heart (the atria) beat abnormally and disrupt blood flow to the lower two chambers (the ventricles).

The condition, which can be temporary or permanent, raises the risk of stroke. A person with A-fib has a four to five

Sherwood Park Weather & News

History

Sherwood Park, originally named Campbelltown, was founded by John Hook Campbell and John Mitchell in 1953 when the Municipal District of Strathcona No. 83 approved their proposed development of a bedroom community east of Edmonton. The first homes within the community were marketed to the public in 1955. Canada Post intervened on the name of Campbelltown due to the existence of several other communities in Canada within the same name, so the community’s name was changed to Sherwood Park in 1956.

Punk Music – Sharing top punk music news and videos

Punk rock (or “punk”) is a rock music genre that developed in the early to mid-1970s in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. Rooted in 1960s garage rock and other forms of what is now known as “proto-punk” music, punk rock bands rejected perceived excesses of mainstream 1970s rock. Punk bands typically produced short or fast-paced songs, with hard-edged melodies and singing styles, stripped-down instrumentation, and often political, anti-establishment lyrics. Punk embraces a DIY ethic; many bands self-produce recordings and distribute them through informal channels.

The term “punk” was first used in relation to rock music by some American critics in the early 1970s, to describe garage bands and their devotees. By late 1976, bands such as the New York Dolls, Television, and the Ramones in New York City, the Sex Pistols, the Clash, and the Damned in London, and The Saints in Brisbane were recognized as the vanguard of a new musical movement. The following year saw punk ro
