Article from Straits Times, Breaking News (23 September 2013): Firms must show they tried to hire S'poreans first. By Toh Yong Chuan From August next year, firms that want to hire foreign professionals must prove that they have tried to hire Singaporeans. These employers have to advertise for Singaporeans to fill the vacancies in a national jobs bank administered by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency, the Manpower Ministry said on Monday. Firms with 25 or fewer staff will be exempted from advertising rule, or those hiring for jobs paying ,000 and above a month. Those who do not advertise in the national job bank will have the foreigners' Employment Pass (EP) applications rejected. Green Day – 21 Guns (Acoustic) – Live in Oakland

Green Day – 21 Guns (Acoustic) – Oakland, Live, 8-5-17, 1st row, Oakland Coliseum. Billie Joe: You! OK, get your ass up here! 😛

Other Tidbits:

Hometown show! For ‘Know Your Enemy’, ‘Longview’ and ‘Knowledge’, Billie invited a fan to sing and play the guitar with them. 2 of the fans picked out were standing adjacent to me, lol. Many of the fans recognized each other from previous Green Day concerts. In fact, the kid who played ‘Longview and J.A.R.’ last year on the guitar and who was featured in the ‘Spotify Landmark Series: Green Day The Early Years’, was next to me in the VIP line.

For the VIPs, we received, among other things, the opportunity to watch the band sound check from the stadium’s suites. Two of the songs sound checked were ‘Homecoming’ and ‘Too Dumb to Die’, but neither was performed. Like Oakland Arena, they have an early curfew at ~11:00, so perhaps there was not enough time before the scheduled fireworks.

Billie Joe (during ‘Letterbomb’): OMG! We’re home! This is family! This is friendship! This is about home… Tonight, every song is about home! The East Bay! The entire Bay Area man!

To further celebrate the homecoming, the band held a Pop-Up Shop at 1-2-3-4 Go! Records in Oakland for 2 days, complete with exclusive merchandise, giveaways, free Oakland Coffee, and appearances by the Drunk Bunny and the A’s Mascot, Stomper. Upon opening, there was a ~30-fan long line out the door. The first 250 Idiot Nation Fan Club members got 2 free tries on the carnival claw machine to win miniature stuffed pink or green drunk bunnies. Only 25 of the green bunnies were made and they were all in the machine. I aimed the claw to try to get one of those, but it didn’t hold on 😛 I bought a pair of posters and they gave me a free Oakland Coffee tote bag, which was nice.

The opener was Catfish and the Bottlemen, who was actually scheduled to perform last year with Green Day at Oakland Arena for Not So Silent Night 2016, but they had to cancel. Many were looking forward to seeing them as well.

Green Day – Suffocate/Desensitized

TITLE: Suffocate & Desensitized
ALBUM: Shenanigans
YEAR: 2002
SINGLE? No

– LYRICS –

{Part 1: Suffocate}
_________________

Three a.m., I’m drunk again
My head is standing
Underneath my puke
So make it stop; I’m getting off
Make it stop; I’m getting off

Sedatives and dizzy spells
And spilling my guts
Underneath my puke
So make it stop; I’m getting off
Make it stop; I’m getting off

Well, slipped into a coma once again
Where’s my organ donor to lend a hand?

So when you think you’re all alone
No one’s left to come around
Drop like flies, and empathize
And I know that I will someday
And I know that I will suffocate
Suffocate… Suffocate… Suffocate

One-night stands and cheap regrets
I’ll take another drag
Off of my cigarette
So stop; I’m getting off
Make it stop; I’m getting off

One last stop for one-track mind
Just give me shelter
Give me, give me something
Make it stop; I’m getting off
Make it stop; I’m getting off

Well, slipped into a coma once again
Where’s my organ donor to lend a hand?

So when you think you’re all alone
No one’s left to come around
Drop like flies, and empathize
And I know that I will someday
And I know that I will suffocate
Suffocate… Suffocate… Suffocate

So when you think you’re all alone
No one’s left to come around
Drop like flies, and empathize
And I know that I will someday
And I know that I will suffocate

And I know that I will someday
And I know that I will suffocate
Suffocate… Suffocate… Suffocate

Give it to me free

I wanna get ripped off

And drown in the airwaves
Another fatal wreck
on the Information Highway

So go ahead
and kill yourselves
It all amuses me
For I’ll be damned to spend my life in hell
Another wise ingrate

Bring me blood and pain
of a stranger’s fate
Give it all away
Give it to me now

I’m desensitized
I wanna watch the bomb
Blow the masses high

I wanna get ripped off

And drown in the airwaves
Another fatal wreck
on the Information Highway

So go ahead
and kill yourselves
It all amuses me
For I’ll be damned to spend my life in hell

Green Day – 21 Guns Lyrics

lyric music video of 21 guns by green day. I don’t own anything form the videos or music, all rights go to Green Day and Reprise Records.

Lyrics:
Do you know what’s worth fighting for?
When it’s not worth dying for?
Does it take your breath away
And you feel yourself suffocating?

Does the pain weigh out the pride?
And you look for a place to hide?
Did someone break your heart inside?
You’re in ruins

One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms, give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky, you and I

When you’re at the end of the road
And you lost all sense of control
And your thoughts have taken their toll
When your mind breaks the spirit of your soul

Your faith walks on broken glass
And the hangover doesn’t pass
Nothing’s ever built to last
You’re in ruins

One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms, give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky, you and I

Did you try to live on your own
When you burned down the house and home?
Did you stand too close to the fire
Like a liar looking for forgiveness from a stone?

When it’s time to live and let die
And you can’t get another try
Something inside this heart has died
You’re in ruins

One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms, give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky

One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms, give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky, you and I
