“The Black Ocean” es el tema 02 del disco “Homesick / Roadsick” (2015)
———————-

Shoot me into the rising sun
Like shooting up with adrenaline
There is no pause there is no fear
There’s nothing that I can see
Only anticipation for what lies past The Black Ocean
I don’t know what I believe
In the end it won’t mean anything
I regret every precious moment I squandered away
When in the end you were everything

Every night moon starts a fire
Breathing breath into my deflated lungs
I am the moth she is the flame
From the Black Ocean she calls my name
There were nights I swore her light was the only love I’d ever know
Forget what you believe
In the end it won’t mean anything
When we were young we swore our hearts would never live to die alone!
How the hell could we have known?

I don’t know what I believe
In the end it won’t mean anything
I regret every precious moment I squandered away
When in the end you were everything

Forget what you believe
In the end it won’t mean a goddamn thing
When we were young we swore our hearts would never live to die alone!
How the hell could we have known?
You won’t go alone
I won’t let you go alone.

7/12 Fall Out Boy – American Beauty @ EITM DC 101 Holiday Concert, EagleBank Arena, Fairfax 12/03/15

Fall Out Boy is an American rock band formed in Wilmette, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, in 2001. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, guitarist Joe Trohman, and drummer Andy Hurley. The band originated from Chicago’s hardcore punk scene, with which Wentz was heavily involved. The group was formed by Wentz and Trohman as a pop punk side project of their respective hardcore bands, and Stump joined shortly thereafter. The group went through a succession of drummers before landing Hurley and recording their debut album, Take This to Your Grave (2003), which became an underground success and helped the band gain a dedicated fanbase through heavy touring, as well as some moderate commercial success.

With Wentz as the band’s lyricist and Stump as the primary composer, the band’s 2005 major-label breakthrough, From Under the Cork Tree, produced two hit singles, “Sugar, We’re Goin Down” and “Dance, Dance,” and went double platinum, transforming the group into superstars and making Wentz a celebrity and tabloid fixture. Fall Out Boy received a Best New Artist nomination at the 2006 Grammy Awards. Their 2007 follow-up, Infinity on High, landed at number one on the Billboard 200 with 260,000 first week sales. It produced two worldwide hit singles, “This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race” and “Thnks fr th Mmrs.” Folie à Deux, the band’s fourth album, created a mixed response from fans and commercially undersold expectations. Following the release of Believers Never Die – Greatest Hits, the band took a hiatus from 2009 to 2012 to “decompress,” exploring various side projects. They regrouped and recorded Save Rock and Roll (2013), which gave the band their second career number one and produced the 5x platinum top 20 single “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up).” Their sixth studio album, American Beauty/American Psycho (2015), released worldwide on Island Records, was preceded by the 3x Platinum top 10 hit “Centuries” and also spawned the platinum single “Uma Thurman” which peaked at 22 on Hot 100. The album peaked at No. 1, making it the group’s third No. 1 album and their fifth consecutive top 10 album.

While Fall Out Boy’s music has been typically described as pop punk and pop rock, the band were generally seen in the mid-2000s at the forefront of the “emo pop” explosion. Take This to Your Grave has commonly been cited as an influential blueprint for pop punk music in the 2000s.

——————–
“Decapitated” es una versión de (Broken Bones), tema 03 del disco “Bonecrusher” (1985)
——————– Lyrics: ——————–

Her name was Jane, she lived alone
She had to go out, out to the phone
She had to cross the moor that night
She was all alone, and out of site

She was decapitated

There was a flash of steel and a lot of blood
She could not scream, he had cut her throat
He tore her body, limb from limb
He liked to kill, he loved to sin

She was decapitated
She was decapitated

Her name was Jane, she lived alone
She had to go out, out to the phone
She had to cross the moor that night
She was all alone, and out of site

She was decapitated
She was decapitated

The Kassos “How I’m Going Out” San Diego Garage Punk Rock

The Kassos – How I’m Going Out

Bartender I need a drink
I need it now
My mouth is dry and my nerves are shot
I need the music loud

How I got here I don’t know
But I know how I’m going out

Hey girl I wanna watch you dance
Here’s a dollar bill
I got time for another line
And another thrill

I spend my days just getting high
Got no idea where I spent the night last night
And I feel alright

RANCUNE – Freiheit mein Arsch

RANCUNE treads the line between 80s-inspired electronic sounds and new-wave songwriting. Influenced by garage rock, electronic body music and most things in between, these three French guys living in Berlin can’t choose between singing in their mother tongue, English or German. Playing with an assemblage of analog synthesizers, drum machines, plus an organ and a guitar amp, the three members take turns to sing songs of love, lust, grudge and culinary frustration.
Release in June 2016

Plastic Crimewave Syndicate As Twinkwind – The Snake – 3/22/14

CHI-TOWN NIGHTS with TJ Superfan presents: Plastic Crimewave Syndicate As Twinkwind (live) at Empty Bottle, in Chicago’s Ukrainian Village neighborhood. Led by Steve Krakow, this chemistry was paying homage to both Hawkwind and Pink Fairies. It was sweet to see the triumphant return of Nick D’vyne — formerly of Plastic Crimewave Sound and currently with Vee Dee — on guitar and vocals. Acid rock, acid punk, space rock, and psychedelia are a few descriptions of this type of music. But it’s really just rock ‘n’ roll music that let’s you escape to the cosmos.

I asked the Chicago music archivist about the name “Twinkwind.”

Steve Krakow: “The Snake” is a Pink Faries tune, but we were trying to cover for the cancelation of Twink, who was in the Pink Fairies. Then Hawkwind cancelled too. Way back in the day, the two bands would often jam together as “Pinkwind.” So we made ours, “Twinkwind.” Kinda goofy, but hey — it’s cosmic rock ‘n’ roll!

rancid – antennas [acoustic cover] punk rock dilettante(s)

I did an acoustic version of rancid’s antennas. leave comments below.

“Antennas”

Your selling sexism your selling racism
your selling anything you get your fucking hands on
An understanding, you got a plan in a
Presentation to advertisers who demand it
When you plan that
Your antennas are pointed in the right direction
You make a deal in any situation
So with no evacuation
Let California fall into the fucking ocean
Oh they talk to ya, Oh your the town man
High profile Hollywood scum-bag
It’s a done deal, signed and sealed
Deal makers making it all happen
When you plan that
Your antennas are pointed in the right direction
You make a dead in any situation
So with no evacuation
Let California fall into the fucking ocean
Let California fall into the fucking ocean!
Let California fall into the fucking ocean!
Let California fall into the fucking ocean!!!

The Skraps – Radio Punk.mp4
