“Happy Together” is a 1967 song from The Turtles’ album of the same name. Released in February of 1967, the song knocked The Beatles’ “Penny Lane” out of the #1 slot for three weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. It was the group’s only chart-topper. “Happy Together” reached #12 on the UK Singles Chart in April 1967. The song was written by Garry Bonner and Alan Gordon, former members of a band known as The Magicians. The song had been rejected a dozen times before The Turtles were offered it, and the demo acetate was worn out.
Sorry about the random cut at 3:13, as you can see shortly before, I was fixing my tom because a bunch of lugs got loose and out of tune. The tom is important for the final solo so I had to redo the end! Sorry about that! Just ignore it 😛

My cover of Jet lag by Simple Plan of their new album Get Your Heart On! This song as well as a few others were ‘stand outs’ on the album in my opinion so i decided to cover it 🙂 Definately not one of my best covers I just through a few bits together and although im not overly happy with it I’ve uploaded it anyway. Please give feedback and rate it etc etc.
As always subscribing is the biggest compliment any ‘youtuber’ can get so please subscribe to keep updated with future covers 🙂

Here’s we go with Episode 2 of the Scott’s Bass Lessons Podcast!
This week I sit down with Nik West – bass player, vocalist and songwriter with credits that include artists such as Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, Prince, John Mayer, Glee and American Idol.
She’s been on the cover of Bass Musician Magazine and has also been featured in Bass Player, Bass Quarterly Germany, and Bass Magazine Japan.
In this episode we discuss her past, how she found the bass, why she nearly gave up for good – right through to moving to LA, hanging out with the likes of Andrew Gouché and getting the call from Prince.
In this Episode You’re Going to Learn:
– How Nik found the bass, and started her journey to becoming a bass player.
– Why she stopped playing (luckily for us she started again!)
– Why you should “play the groove until it’s in you”
– What it was like getting the call from Prince… in the middle of the night!
Right now over 10,000 bass players are enrolled in the Academy here at Scott’s Bass Lessons and are making a real difference to their playing… if you’re really serious about getting your bass playing together, click here to find out more and grab your FREE trial: http://bit.ly/2wn79mR
